Part of the Bulbous range, this contemporary shaped razor is handmade in Sheffield, England using solid turned blue polyester handle, finished with triple chrome plated collar and end cap. The Edwin Jagger DE head is highly reputed for balance and shave quality. Used with a standard DE razor blade, and quality shaving cream or soap, this razor will produce a close and accurate shave often compared to that of a straight razor.
Overall length 115mm. Beautifully balanced; a pleasure to use. Suitable for any standard DE replacement blades
Warning: Do not over tighten the DE head. Cast metal is fragile if dropped.
- An impressive DE razor
This is my first DE razor, but I'm coming in a different direction to most. I've been a shavette user for a few years now and have a couple to choose from, but having to snap the blades for usage isn't always ideal and I decided I should treat myself to a DE razor for travel and such.
After some research, I was sold on the DE89 range. But when I came to buy I noticed the bulbous handle alternatives which seemed like something I'd find more comfortable to handle.
Although originally intended just for occasional use I obviously had to try it immediately, and it seems to have become my default shave tool. It felt very natural within seconds. It moves smoothly and easily across my skin, giving a shave comparable to my straight razors with less fuss. With only a little practice, I'm even finding it remarkably deft for the edges/details which I've come to regard as the strongest aspect of a shavette.
This razor is well built. It's got a nice weight to it which helps give such a good shave. This was my first Edwin Jagger purchase and I feel this razor exceeds the expectations I had of the brand.
